About Parthenon
The finest example of Doric architecture. Built to honor the goddess Athena. Uses subtle optical illusions - the columns lean slightly inward and the floor curves. Survived an Ottoman ammunition explosion in 1687. The Elgin Marbles are in the British Museum.
